PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve reliability by reducing the friction factor of a thrust bearing to reduce mechanical losses, and omitting Oldham's ring to simplify a structure and reduce noises. SOLUTION: This scroll compressor is constructed in such a manner that fixed and turning scrolls 4 and 5 having spiral racks erected in the inner surface of an end plate are engaged with each other to be made eccentric and to oppose each other, the turning scroll 5 is revolved and turned while preventing its autorotation, and this is supported to slide in a thrust bearing 11 using a ball roller bearing formed in a main frame 8. In this case, between the thrust bearing 11 and the thrust bearing surface 5d of the end plate 5a of the turning scroll 5 corresponding to the thrust bearing 11, a plurality of balls 12 are arranged in a circumferential direction and held, and a guiding groove 13 having the radius of a circumferential locus equal to that of revolutional turning is provided to guide each ball 12 and give turning motion to the turning scroll 5.
