PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the exertion of an optical harmful effect and to obtain a good photographed image even if moisture sticks to the surface of a transparent optical element forming a photographic incident light path by using a light transmissive optical material with a photocatalytic coating on the surface as the material of the optical element. SOLUTION: Part of the front outer case 12 of camera housing 1 confronting the photographic lens part 22 of a camera 2 housed in the camera housing 1 is formed from a transparent optical element 13 obtained by forming a photocatalytic coating on the surface of an optical element comprising a light transmissive optical material. A coating of titania (TiO2) is, e.g. used as the photocatalytic coating. When the photocatalyst is excited with light, the surface of the photocatalyst is made highly hydrophilic and the water repellency of the surface is lost. Condensation to waterdrops is therefore prevented even if moisture sticks to the surface of the transparent optical element 13.
