PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To employ an intermediate color similar to that in the background for inspecting projection of a core wire in the background for measuring the position of a highlight generated by illuminating the crimp part of a crimped terminal. SOLUTION: The crimp part 1b of a crimped terminal 1 is illuminated to generate highlight parts 21a and 21b which are picked up by means of a TV camera and subjected to image processing in order to measure the position of the highlight part and to inspect projection of a core wire. The highlight part is illuminated at high density level from the front side and the side part is illuminated at low density level. The background is set with an intermediate color density level ML and the threshold level BL for detecting the highlight part is set at the intermediate color density level or above so that the position can be measured at the background intermediate color level. Since inspection is conducted at the background intermediate color level, position measurement and inspection can be conducted without replacing the background. |
