PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To separately a detect a defect such as a scar, a black point or foreign matter mixture which occur on the front surface of an object to be inspected having a stripe pattern from the stripe pattern through the use of an image processing technique. SOLUTION: The image of the front surface of an object to be inspected is picked-up, an image processing including at least a differential processing is executed for the obtained original image, image data concerning gradation change are obtained, the feature of image data which is obtained in a pre- processing process is obtained as basic data for an inspection concerning the object to be inspected and the feature of image data obtained in the pre- processing process concerning the object to be inspected concerning external appearance is compared and collated with basic data for the inspection. Therefore, the feature of a defective part is separately extracted from the feature of the stripe pattern and recognized so that normal/defective is judged. Besides, an inspection window is generated from normal image data along the boundary part of the stripes and the inspection window can be set to be the image to be inspected. |
