PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color cathode-ray tube capable of preventing deformation of a shadow mask by enhancing the strength of a mask frame supported by a rectangular panel via a tilted type elastic support. SOLUTION: A color picture tube has a rectangular panel with sidewall parts provided around a perforated part, a rectangular shadow mask 4 opposite to a fluorescent screen formed on the inner surface of the perforated part, a rectangular mask frame 12 mounted on the peripheral part of the rectangular shadow mask 4, and elastic support 13 including a fixed part 16 fixed to the mask frame 12, a locked part 17 locked to a stud pin provided on the sidewall part of the panel, and a tilted part 18 where the fixed part 16 and the locked part 17 spaced apart from each other are connected together by a bent part 19a having an angle such that it is tilted relative to the direction of the tube axis perpendicular to the shadow mask 4. The mask frame 12 includes a frame reinforcing part 21 having a reinforcing side part along the inclination angle of the bent part 19a in the nearby area of the bent part 19a defining the space between the fixed part 16 and the inclined part 18 of the elastic support 13.
