PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a change of direction of a display screen without deteriorating the mechanical strength by having a flat surface formed of at least two display screens having a different display direction from each other, and forming the display surface so that any one of the display screens is visible. SOLUTION: A flat display surface 2 of a display unit 1 is divided and display letters 3 are formed in two directions of the vertical and the lateral directions so that display screens 2a, 2b in the two directions are separately formed. A cover 4 as a shielding body for covering the display surface 2 is formed of a cover 4a having a window 6a for visual recognition of the display screen 2a formed of the display letters arranged in the vertical direction and the other cover 4b having a window 6b for visual recognition of the lateral display screen 2b, and the cover 4 is fitted on the display surface so that only one of the display surfaces can be visually recognized. In the case of using a vertical main body, the cover 4a for shielding parts except for the vertical display screen 2a is fitted so as to cover the unnecessary display surface.
