PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make simply settable a transit by making vertical support legs at a mount end butt against a steel column, inserting a lock bar into an erection piece to support the mount, and setting the transit on the mount. SOLUTION: A mounting jig 6 is composed of a horizontal mount 10 having a plate 9 welded between a pair of angles 8, and vertical support legs 11 at the rear ends of the angles 8. The support leg 11 is a flat plate broad at the top end and has a lattice plate 12 bridged between the lower end thereof and the top end of the angle 8. The pair of support legs 11 are pressed to a steel column 7 so as to locate on both sides of an erection piece 3, a lock bar 5 is inserted in a hanging hole 4 of the erection piece 3 to support the pair of angles 8 with the lock bar 5, thereby setting the setting tool 6 on the steel column 7. A transit 13 is fixed to a mount 10 to finish the setting.
