PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent heat influence on the inside of a battery by fitting a square case and a sealing plate, and irradiating laser beams to the fitting line toward slanting down direction from the side of the case, and scanning the fitting line to weld the case and the sealing plate. SOLUTION: Laser beams 3a-3d are irradiated to the fitting line 4 of a square case 1 and a sealing plate 2. The laser beams 3a-3d are scanned in parallel to long aides (a), (b), and short aides (c), (d) of the square case 1 to weld the fitting line 4, and the opening end of the square case 1 is sealed with the sealing plate 2. Since the scanning direction of the laser beams 3a-3d is straight along the sides (a)-(d), moving control is easy, and precise welding operation can be conducted. The irradiation of the laser beam 3 to the fitting line 4 in the horizontal direction is scanned at specified angle downward to the fitting line 4. |
