PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify tilt adjusting mechanism used in tilt adjusting process during the assembly of an optical disk device and to reduce the cost of an adjusting facility. SOLUTION: One end of a guide shaft 120, which supports an optical pickup 101 and guides the movement of the pickup in a radial direction of a disk 110, is supported by a guide shaft guide body 123 in a movable manner along the vertical direction against the surface of the disk. A tilt adjusting jig 140 is placed between the one of the guide shaft and a lead screw 104, which moves the pickup. The screw 104 is driven by a moving motor 106 and the jig 104 is rotated so that the end section of the shaft 120 is moved in the vertical direction with respect to the surface of the disk 110. Thus, a tilt error between an optical axis 101a of the pickup 101 and the surface of the disk is minimized and then, the guide shaft and the guide shaft body are fixed.
