<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To pick up an image with best focus so as to move a light source in a prescribed image pickup direction, and to accurately recognize a reference surface based on the position of that light source. SOLUTION: A picture recognizing device 100 is provided with four light emitting diodes LEDi (i=1 to 4), which are attached at the desired positions of an arbitrary object 1, to be flickered so as to make flicker patterns different, panning CCD 23 for picking up images so as to move these light emitting diodes LEDi in the prescribed image pickup direction, arithmetic means 6 for finding the positions of light emitting diodes LEDi by performing image processing to a luminance signal SOUT of this flicker pattern and for finding the reference surface by linking these four light emitting positions later, camera 4 for scrutinized point detection for detecting a scrutinized point(p) of an observer, who gazes at the reference surface, by picking up the image of eyeball motion of that observer, and control means 5 for controlling the optical system of the panning CCD 23 based on a camera output signal S3. In this case, based on the motion of the pupils recognized from the eyeball motion of the observer, a focal distance Sc+Soff between the light emitting diode LEDi, that the observer gazes at, and the panning CCD 23 is corrected.</p> |
