PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an omnidirectional image pickup device capable of controlling an image pickup range. SOLUTION: This device is constituted of a convex mirror 24 which is attached and fixed on one end of a transparent cylindrical body 20 and whose shape is of rotation symmetry, an image pickup means 32 provided on the other end of the cylindrical body opposed to the mirror 24, and a cover body 60 which controls an incident range to the mirror 24 and provided on the cylindrical body. The cover body is attached to the one end side of the cylindrical body. The cover body is a light shielding body, has a cover piece 60B, and is rotatably attached to the cylindrical body, and a direction and a range for photographing can be adjusted by the cover body attaching position and the light shielding angle of the cover body. Thus, unnecessary video information can be eliminated, so that only a video in a desired range can be taken out, and information can be effectively analyzed.
