PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system which is suitable for high picture quality, high output quality, and customer's needs as the processing method for image information of a color document image at the time of the production of a color print image. SOLUTION: This method is implemented through all of 'phases' which are discriminatingly sectioned and mutually relative, i.e., (1) a 'phase' for rearranging image information obtained from the color document image, (2) a 'phase' for designing process measures for the rearranged image information obtained in the process (1), (3) a 'phase' for processing the rearranged image information according to the design specifications of the process measures determined in the process (2), and (4) a 'phase' for applying the image information obtained in the process (3) to the production of a color copy image.
