PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent taken-in rotation of viscous fluid at the time of transferring from stopping of a cooling fan to rotation by making viscous fluid into first fluid and second fluid of higher specific gravity and lower viscosity than the first fluid, mixing both of the fluid at the time of rotor rotation and separating them after stopping. SOLUTION: When a drive shaft 11 is rotated from a state where viscous fluid is separated into first and second fluid 29, 30, a rotor 19 is integrally rotated, and as large quantity of fluid exists in a lower part in a working chamber 17, a housing 12 and a cover 14 are roughly integrally rotated by shearing force of fluid immediately after it, and the fluid 29, 30 is mixed and returns to a storage chamber 16 through a pump hole 18d. In this state, torque transmission to the housing 12 and the cover 14 by labyrinth grooves 20a, b is extremely small, and a cooling fan installed on the cover 14 is rotated at low speed. A communicating hole 18b opens at the time when bimetal 21 becomes higher than specified temperature, the fluid is supplied to the groove 20b, the fan is rotated at medium speed, and communicating holes 18a, b open and are rotated at high speed. Consequently, it is possible to restrain unrequired taken-in rotation. |
