PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the weight of an element accounting for the whole metallic belt so as to be reducible. SOLUTION: A metallic belt is comprised of an endless-form metallic band and a plurality of metallic elements 17 arranged as laminated in the longitudinal direction of the band. Each individual element is provided with a body part 19 and a head part 20. Respective salients 23 and 27 coming into contact with adjacent elements 17 and to form each clearance gap 26 in space between the adjacent elements 17 are formed each in these body and head parts 19 and 20. Each projection 24 is fitted in a recess of the adjacent element 17.
