PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain stable color reproduction without causing a delicate fluctuation in a signal representing gray by calculating the saturation of a digital color signal, calculating a saturation weight coefficient based on the calculated saturation and using the saturation weight coefficient so as to obtain an output signal through a weighting arithmetic operation. SOLUTION: An MTX(70b, 74b) is provided with a detection means 101, at a post-stage of a secondary matrix 100 equivalent to a conventional MTX, that detects saturation and lightness of a color digital signal and with saturation, lightness weight calculation means 102, 103 based on the detected saturation and lightness in addition to the configuration of the conventional MTX, and also with a weight integration means 104 that integrates an arithmetic amount of weight coefficients based on the saturation and the lightness. Based on the integration result (control variable 106) by the weight integration means 104, a weight arithmetic operation means 108 applies weighted arithmetic operation to an output signal (nonlinear conversion signal) of the secondary matrix 100 and an output signal (LUT conversion signal) of an LUT 105 to synthesize both the signals. |
