PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the maximum value of the driving current of a PDP(plasma display panel). SOLUTION: A reset period, a data transfer period and a discharge emission period are assigned separately to the first half part and latter half part of one frame period of an input image between the odd scanning line and even scanning line of a PDP. The non-operating period present in a conventional device is effectively utilized, thereby, the discharge emission periods W1-W4 of each scanning line can be ensured by the same length as the conventional device. Therefore, the maximum value of the current necessary for the drive of the PDP can be halved, compared with the conventional device, without sacrificing the luminance of the PDP. |
