PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow the user to recognize presence of a specific image at a low cost without deteriorating recognition accuracy and to minimize decrease in the total productivity. SOLUTION: When a variable power is instructed, a controller 2 instructs an image read section 3 to generate 2nd image data. The image read section 3 reads an original image with unmagnification independently of the magnification to generate the 2nd image data and generates 1st image data by reading the original image at a read speed based on magnification information. An image recognition section 6 applies recognition processing to the 2nd image data as to whether or not the 2nd image data include a specific original. The controller 2 provides an instruction of usual image processing and image output when no specific original is included in the 2nd image data. On the other hand, when the specific original is included in the 2nd image data, the controller 2 discriminates the image data resulting from an illegal copy and inhibits the usual operation of an image processing section 4 or an image output section 5.
