PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a positive active material of lithium secondary batteries that is excellent in discharge capacity, and a manufacturing method of such a positive active material. SOLUTION: The positive active material includes a composition represented by a formula Li1-zNazAxByMn1-x-yO2, wherein 0<x<0.3, 0<y<0.3, 0<x+y<0.3 and 0<z<1, originating from a monoclinic system-indexed lithium manganate compound whose manganese constituent is partly replaced by an additional element A or at least one type of element selected from the group of Ge, Ga, In, Sn, Sc, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Dy, Ho, Y, Er, Yb and Lu, and by another additional element B of at least one type of element selected from the group of Ti, Zr, V, Nb, Fe and Al, and whose lithium constituent is partly replaced by sodium. |
