PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent accumulation of latent heat in batteries by quickly dispersing heat produced by short circuits between their positive and negative electrodes. SOLUTION: A nonaqueous electrolyte battery comprises a unit cell 1 stored in a sealing member 2 of a laminated film. The sealing member 2 includes as a laminated film constituent a metallic material of thermal conductivity (k) of not less than 230 Wm-1K-1 at ordinary temperature. The volume of the metallic material portions of the sealing member 2 is set in the range of from 0.0002 cm3 to 0.003 cm3 per unit capacity, 1 mAh, of the unit cell 1.
