PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a management channel to be used in a tree access network including cascade connection between one common link and an exclusive link by allowing a line termination card to decide a management channel for each network termination in the case of expansion of network components in a tree network. SOLUTION: In the case of expanding network components in a tree network that is provided with cascade connection between one common link, that is, a root and an exclusive link, that is, a branch and with redundant network termination cards at one physical position, that is, in one network unit, the line termination card decides a management channel for each network termination. For example, an optical network unit includes two optical network termination cards NTC1, NTC2 which are redundant to each other. Each of the optical network termination cards NTC1, NTC2 is coupled with a line terminator LT via either of two exclusive links, that is, L2, L3 respectively. |
