PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make an optical pickup to be compactly constituted with respect to optical disks whose thicknesses are different and to make the pickup to be able to focus on a spot in which the aberration is small and which is of satisfactory. SOLUTION: This optical pickup is made to be the constitution provided with first and second light emitting elements 22a, 24a, a luminous flux separating element 32, an objective lens 34, a collimating lens 26 which is arranged in a first optical path connecting the first light emitting element 22a and the luminous flux separating element 32, an optical device 28 which is arranged in a second optical path connecting the second light emitting element 24a and the element 32 and which generates the rotationally symmetric wave front aberration, a first photodetecting means 22b detecting a luminous flux which is emitted from the first light emitting element 22a and which is irradiated on an object through the objective 34 and which is reflected on the object and a second photodetecting means 24b detecting a luminous flux which is emitted from the second light emitting element 24a and which is irradiated on an object through the objective 34 and which is reflected on the object. |
