PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable high-speed processing eve when there is the positional relationship of rotation between reference source and destination images. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a reference source image memory part 1 for storing the image data of a reference source image 100, a reference destination image memory part 2 for storing the image data of a reference destination image 101, an image rotating part 6 capable of rotating the reference destination image 101 at plural rotating angles, a rotated image memory part 7 for storing the image data of a rotated reference destination image 114, an image selecting part 10 for selecting either a partial reference destination image 103 read out of the reference destination image memory part 2 or a partial reference destination image 117 from the rotated image memory part 7 and an image comparing part 11 for comparing a partial reference source image 102 from the reference source image memory part 1 with the partial reference destination image selected by the image selecting part 10 and at the image comparing part 11, a partial reference destination image 117 most approximate to the partial reference source image 102 is selected. |
