PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coupling device for a longitudinal member and a horizontal member in which processing is easy and there is no sharp portion so as to be safe. SOLUTION: The coupling device for a longitudinal member and a horizontal member is for coupling in an approximately L-shape a channel longitudinal member 10 and a channel lateral member 11 whose either front or rear is opened. Each overhang part 10a, 11a is formed on a side face of a channel of the longitudinal member 10 and the lateral member 11 all along the length of the channel. A coupling device 12 comprises a corner part 20 in which a horizontal face 20a against which a horizontal coupling end portion of the longitudinal member 10 is abutted and a vertical face 20b against which a vertical coupling end portion of the lateral member 11 is abutted are formed and longitudinal member and lateral member insert parts 21, 22 having vertical platelike parts 21e, 22e projecting from the horizontal face 20a and the vertical face 20b of the corner part 20 and having a width corresponding to the channel width of the longitudinal member 10 and the lateral member 11 and two projected lines 21b, 22b extending in the longitudinal direction of platelike parts 21e, 22e formed on the channel bottom side faces of the vertical platelike parts 21e, 22e.
