<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To update probability estimation information fast by a logic circuit. SOLUTION: A transition state update part 101 holds and updates status(ST) values corresponding to respective contexts(CX) and majority probability symbols(MPS) of the CXs. An A-register arithmetic part 102 performs subtraction between an A register and the appearance probability(LSZ) of LPS and makes a shift in the A register. A probability transition table 103 outputs corresponding LSZ, a next transition destination(NMPS) at the time of MPS, a next transition destination(NLPS) when PIX is LPS, and the value of generation (SWTCH) of the inversion of the MPS value according to the value of an inputted ST. A C-register arithmetic part 105 performs addition and subtraction between a C register and the A register and makes a shift in the C register. A read and a write cycle of probability estimation information generating the timing of signal input and output by a CT update part 106 are performed at a high speed and the process speed for the whole encoding process is improved eventually.</p> |
