CONTROL METHOD FOR REAL TIME INTERNET FACSIMILE TERMINAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow the user to designate a proper transmission destination by visually displaying a fact that a packet cannot reach a destination when a packet arrival history table records impossibility of packet arrival as to a designated destination. SOLUTION: A real time Internet facsimile terminal FX has a group 8 facsimile terminal function and a function of information communication with an opposite terminal via the Internet INET in compliance with the ITU-T recommendations T.38 protocol. The control method of the real time Internet facsimile terminal FX employs a packet arrival history table that records whether or not a packet reaches each destination through the Internet INET. In the case that impossibility of packet arrival is recorded as to a designated destination in the packet arrival history table, a fact that a packet cannot reach the destination is indicated for the user through visual display.
