<p>A robotic tire end effector apparatus (20) and system including a method for picking up and placing tires (T) positioned horizontally onto vertical stacks of tires (28). The apparatus and system (20) includes a totem support assembly (200) having a support housing (202) and support bars (204) capable of bearing against the inside diameter of a tire bead and a bottom assembly (100) mounted to the support housing (202) of the totem support assembly (200). The bottom assembly (100) includes pivot arms (104) and finger (108). The system includes a computer and program capable of receiving data from the tires for identification tracing tire location, allocation, pick optimization and continuous calculation of sorting and pick options.</p> |
