The both brakes (A,B) have a brake rotor (9 or 10) with frictional linings (9a,10a) on each endface arranged on the hub (16) or the shaft rotationally proof, but axially movable. The two brakes are arranged standing axially opposite each other, and the pressure springs in the coil carriers (1,2), press the two armature discs (6,8) and brake rotors (9,10) in a non-current condition, axially in a direction mutually opposite. An axially movable non-rotatable ring shaped intermediate plate (7) is provided axially between the coil carriers, as a frictional surface for the friction lining.
