USE OF XANTHAN GUMS FOR PREPARING PHARMACEUTICAL COMPOSITIONS

The invention concerns a method for preparing a solid pharmaceutical composition comprising an active substance and a matrix comprising xanthan gum, whether in the form of agglomerated particles or not. The invention is characterised in that the grain size distribution of the xanthan particles is adjusted so as to provide the pharmaceutical composition a specific profile for prolonged release of the active substance.
