The vehicle to transfer a container from a rail to a road transport system, for delivery to the loading dock of the addressee, moves longitudinally under a freight container (1). It lifts the container, and travels laterally to dock at a railcar or road freight truck. A moving sliding table (5) shifts the container to its new carrier, and lowers it on to holding pins. The vehicle has a chassis (4) with gearing sets (6) for rotation, lowering and lifting, within integrated gear housings.
