摘要 <p>An amorphous zirconium alloy which has a composition represented by the formula Zr-Ala-Nib-Cuc-Md (wherein M is at least one element selected from the group consisting of Ti, Nb, and Pd; a, b, c, and d respectively are numbers in at.% satisfying the relationships 5 a 10, 30 b+c 50, b/c 1/3, and 0∫d 7; and the remainder consists of Zr and unavoidable impurities) and at least 90 vol.% of which is accounted for by an amorphous phase. The alloy with excellent strength and toughness has such an excellent amorphous-phase-forming ability that the supercooled liquid region has a width of 100 °C or larger and has such mechanical properties at a thickness of 1 mm or larger that the tensile strength is 1,800 MPa or higher, the folding strength is 2,500 MPa or higher, the Charpy impact strength is 100 kJ/m2 or higher, and the fracture toughness is 50 MPa•m1/2 or higher.</p>
