The damper assembly (40) is mounted in a chamber (38) defined by two side walls (12, 36) and one of the side walls has an opening (74) closed by a closure element (76) formed by a closure plate which engages by a circumferential edge area like a cutting edge on an inner circumferential face of the opening. One of the side walls can be set axially between the disc like component (42) and the other flywheel mass (54) whilst the opening is mounted in the other of the side walls.
