The arrangement includes a signal processing unit (17) to which picture signals are supplied generated from picture information of the object to be examined. The processing unit filters the picture signals using a band-pass filter (20). The resultant signals are provided to a display. Preferably, the band-pass parameters can be adjusted. The spectral characteristics of the noise superimposed with the picture signals are determined. The upper cutoff frequency of the band-pass filter is adjusted according to the determined characteristics.
