<p>The invention relates to a medical instrument (10) for dissecting tissue in the human or animal body. Said instrument has an elongate shaft (12) and two tongs (14, 16) at the distal end of the shaft (12). Said tongs can be moved in relation to each other and interact in a cutting and/or grasping manner. At least one of the tongs (14, 16) is configured as an electrode which can be impinged upon by a high-frequency current. An additional electrode which can be impinged upon by a high-frequency current is provided which can be optionally displaced from a retracted proximal position to a distal position adjacent to the tongs (14, 16). In the latter position, said electrode interacts with the at least one tong (14, 16) configured as an electrode and forms the second pole of an electrode arrangement for the bipolar coagulation of tissue.</p> |
