Height adjustable stool with a seat (6) mounted on a vertical profile (2) which is connected to an underbody or a legs (5), where the profile (2) is vertically displaceable in section in square case (1) fastened in the underbody, in that the profile (2) has at least two legs protruding from the center of the case (1) towards two corners in the case (1) and that a screw (4) through the case (1) is adapted to, at tightening, to press against the center of the case (1) so that the legs of the profile (2) are wedged against the inside corners of the case.
