PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera that a film is driven by detecting through-holes formed in the non-photographing area between the photographing feasible area and the edge part thereof, and to provide the film. SOLUTION: This camera is provided with a cartridge housing part 14, a film housing part 16, a driving means feeding the film between the housing parts 14 and 16, a means detecting the through-holes separately formed in the non-photographing area of the film from the edge part thereof, a means controlling the driving means based on a detection signal from the through-hole detection means, a means exposing a frame in the photographing feasible area positioned by the driving means and a means reading and writing data at the other part of the non-photographing area where the through-holes are not formed and the data related on the film are arranged. Then, the film is obtained by eliminating the through-holes for driving a sprocket and constituted so that a gap between the through-holes formed at one of the first and the second non-photographing area between the photographing feasible area and the edge part shows the film feeding length of the frame exposed in the photographing feasible area and the aspect ratio of the frame is set to be 9:16.
