The saw blade fixing and release mechanism has a slot (20d) for the saw blade extending in the axial direction of a ram (20). A boring (20e) runs perpendicular to the ram axis, crossing the slot. A locking pin (30) is a sliding fit in the boring. The saw blade holder (28) fits round the ram and can move in the axial direction of the ram.
