The armor-piercing round has an accelerating or axial separating device (6) at the firing point or at a fixed short distance from it. The drags of the first and second rounds (1, 2) are such, and the accelerating device is of such dimensions, that after their separation, the second round falls behind the first one, but then, due to the drag, catches it up again. This the small spacing between the rounds over a long path lies between preset limits.
