<p>A method of creating a mode-driven virtual community (10) having at least one objective (12) includes accessing a collection of templates that constitute partial descriptions of respective elements of the virtual community. The collection of templates are instantiated to generate the elements of the virtual community. The elements of the virtual community specifying structural and behavioral constructs of a model (22) according to which the virtual community is structured. The instantiating of the collection of templates may be performed utilizing a decision framework (34) constructed utilizing input derived from participants (26) within an earlier virtual community instantiated utilizing the collection of templates.
