Conductor rail with I-shaped profile for railway has extruded aluminum alloy section fitted into I-shaped section and covered with profile components

The conductor rail consists of an iron-based mounting profile (20) with an I-shaped section. A conductor section (22) made of extruded aluminum alloy is fitted into the I-shaped section and covered with profile components (36,46) made of a metal of higher strength. The aluminum profile may be force-fitted into the mounting profile, and thermally coupled to it. Independent claims are included for the use of a conductor profile to modify an existing C- or I-shaped conductor rail, and a method of manufacturing a conductor rail.
