The cable cuff (26) has two identical parts, an upper part (29) and a lower part (27) connected to each other by screws, provided in the middle of each part. Each part is formed of an angled section and flat sections. A cable can thus be clamped between the upper and lower parts. The boring for one of the two screws has an inner thread and the opposing boring is located on the other part so that when the two parts are screwed together, the boring with the inner thread aligns with the non-threaded opening. Projections on the upper and lower parts correspond with catches in the connector housing so that the upper and lower parts are pushed along the catches into the housing. A toothed engagement (74) is formed between the upper or lower part and the housing. A long rib and/or collar is provided on a side surface of a projection.
