The present invention relates to a package used as an information carrier as well as to a method for applying information on said package. The outer surface of the package body is divided according to the information application methods into at least two sections (3, 5) having heterogeneous information applied thereon, wherein said information belongs to at least two groups, i.e. a main group (4) and a functional group (6) each arranged in the corresponding sections (3, 5). The main information (4) is applied during or after the package manufacturing process, while the functional information (6) is applied before or after filling the package with a product. The functional information (6) is applied on the product-filled package before or during the production of said product. The main (4) or functional (6) information is applied spirally or gradually in the form of successive strips. This invention, according to its different aspects, allows for the separate application both on the package surface and in time of main (4) and functional (6) information, and also allows for a customisation of a selected information portion according to the customer's requirements.
