The ball neck(22) of the coupling is positionable relatively play-free to the housing sleeve(12) fixed to the vehicle by means of a tolerance compensation element(50) located between the end piece(20) of the ball neck and locating face of the housing sleeve and effective between these. The tolerance compensation element positions an endpiece bush(60) in the housing sleeve, and the end piece of the ball neck fits play-free into the endpiece bush. The tolerance compensation element is constructed from an elastically deformable material.
