A housing lay-out for sealing a rotary gearwheel (1) relative to a fixed pinion-protection- or gear-box (2), in which a labyrinth seal arrangement (3) is provided with at least one liquid return-flow channel (4) between at least the labyrinth chamber for the remaining labyrinth seal-gap (5) and the inner cavity of the housing chamber (7,7'), sealed externally and filled with liquid and liquid vapour, and formed from the pinion- protection box. The housing chamber (7) has cross-sectional reduction (8) integrated, on the floor-side, into the pinion protection box (2), which forms a narrowed gap (10) opposite the toothing (9) of one gearwheel, in particular the large gearwheel (1), and at least one return-flow channel (11;11',11'') flows into the narrowed gap (10) from the liquid return-flow channel (4).
