A cushioning and supporting member and a method of producing the same, wherein a vessel body can be constructed by using only a single corrugated fiberboard while simultaneously playing the role of a cushioning material to provide a cushioning effect for protecting the contents from external forces. The cushioning and supporting member comprises a polygonal bottom, a plurality of lateral surfaces continuously formed on the sides of the bottom, and a plurality of support elements formed on at least two of the plurality of lateral surfaces, wherein the bottom, the plurality of lateral surfaces and the plurality of support elements are formed of a single corrugated fiberboard and the plurality of support elements are cylindrically bent to thereby form a plurality of three-dimensional support pillars for supporting the corners of the contents and a plurality of contact portions for abutting against the lateral surfaces of the contents, while the connections between the bottom and the plurality of lateral surfaces are bent to store and support the contents.
