FIELD: aircraft equipment. SUBSTANCE: during flight method involves sighting landscape mark with known coordinates and measuring angles in vertical and horizontal planes between sight line and longitudinal aircraft axis, entering received information and additionally measured values into calculation unit and detection of first estimation of values of geographic longitude and altitude of aircraft. Then, digital map of flight region is used for calculation of better approximation of aircraft coordinates. EFFECT: possibility to use on-board sighting device and landscape mark without special distance measuring unit. 2 dwg
