PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To culture pseudo Tricholoma matsutake being a mushroom having Tricholoma matsutake-like flavor so as to readily and inexpensively produce pseudo Tricholoma matsutake by inoculating a spore of pseudo Tricholoma matsutake on a specific raw wood, germinating the spore and growing. SOLUTION: This method for culturing pseudo Tricholoma matsutake comprises inoculating a spore of pseudo Tricholoma matsutake to a raw wood of pinetree cut into a fixed length, germinating and growing the spore to carry out the culture of a mushroom having Tricholoma matsutake-like flavor. In the operation, spore holes 14 into which chip spawns 15 supplied with a spawn are arranged at intervals on the surface of the raw wood and the exposed surface of the chip spawns 15 is preferably made in a nonprojective state from the surface of the raw wood. The method for culturing the pseudo Tricholoma matsutake can culture a mushroom having Tricholoma matsutake-like flavor by adding water and a source of nutrient to a sawdust and/or chip of pinetree material, sterilizing the sawdust and/or the chip to form a mushroom medium, inoculating a spore of pseudo Tricholoma matsutake to the mushroom medium, germinating and growing the spore.
