PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To exactly switch the execution and release of abnormality observation processing for stopping a carrying device at the time of the entry of other materials into the device by simple constitution. SOLUTION: This article storage facilities are provided with article storage shelves 1a and 1b, a carrying device ST equipped with an article transfer device 9, an entry detecting means IS for detecting the entry of other article into the moving space of the device ST, and a controlling means SC for controlling the operation of the device ST to control the stock and delivery of article L and for also making abnormality observation stopping the operation of the device ST when the means IS detects the entry of other article. In the facilities, the controlling means SC stops the abnormality observation based on the detection signal of the means IS having the detection object of a position for transfer operation, during outputting a transfer actuation signal showing the transfer action of the device 9 by the means SO.
