PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrict deformation of a platen while not used, thereby stabilizing a printer characteristic and facilitating handling by pressing, separating a head to the platen interlockingly with an open, close operation of a case cover in a thermal printer of a type built in a case. SOLUTION: The thermal printer is constituted to include a case 21 comprising case main body 211 and a case cover 212 which can open and close when rotating to the case main body 211, a platen 22 mounted rotatably to the case main body 211, and a head complete body 23 having a head-holding body 231 rotatably set to the case main body 211 to butt with or detach from the platen 22 centering a shaft parallel to the platen 22, and a link 235 connecting the head-holding body 231 and the case cover 212.
