PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device of an index shaft capable of accurately indexing an index shaft fixed in its angle position and keeping the accuracy of fixing the index shaft from being deteriorated by aged deterioration. SOLUTION: This fixing device 10 of an index shaft is adapted to press a brake disc 2 fixed to the index shaft 1 from both sides uniformly and simultaneously through contact discs 21, 22 by two pressing members 11, 13 and fix the brake disc 2 to fix the index shaft 1. The outer peripheries of two abutting discs 21, 22 are fixed and the discs are energized in the separating direction, that is, in the opening direction by an elastic body 25. Two pressing members 11, 13 can be supported by a guide pin 23 to be movable vertically and be unrotatable, and opened and closed by one driving means 30.
