PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an internal combustion engine which can prevent unpremeditated reversal and rotate in either rotational direction, as a two cycle internal combustion engine using a forced scavenging method is in danger of the unpremeditated reversal. SOLUTION: When a rotation detector 8 detects a reverse rotation, the fuel injection and electric ignition and the continuation of the rotation are stopped by a control board 10. By installing a cam for moving the contact point for open/close the input of an ignition control circuit by using the play mechanism so as to idle-run when a shaft is reversely rotated on a crankshaft or output shaft 6, the reverse rotation is prevented. Two kinds of specification are assembled in the rotation detector 8 and control board 10 so that the timing of the fuel injection and ignition is suitable for respective rotation in a set direction or opposite direction and so as to rotate by such state that the nearly equal output is applied in both directions reasonably and any direction by switching them.
